NICU.
After an appointment on Sunday with the on-call pediatrician from the hospital and an appointment on Monday with our pediatrician... it was decided that due to Millie's high bilirubin levels (causing her to be jaundice) she needed to be readmitted to the NICU for photo therapy to reduce her levels. Jaundice is pretty common with preterm babies, so we were encouraged that she was going to be just fine. It was super hard to leave her... there were some tears and nervous thoughts but in the end the two nights that she was in the NICU ended up being a sweet time for G & I. We got to spend some alone time together and make our house a bit more ready for our little lady... and we were able to get some extra sleep! She came home on Wednesday just in time to meet my parents & the Klenke family! She is still jaundice so we have a light blanket that we used for one night at home... and she is also on oxygen for a little while until she can keeps her oxygen levels consistent. This is also common for preterm babies, as well as Colorado babies, because of the higher altitude. The oxygen has caused a few bumps with having her home, but we will get used to it... and hopefully she will be off of it soon! Super happy to have her home!
