our eighth week of summer.

an allergist appointment for millie. we had been noticing random hives recently (similar to what i have been dealing with for years), so we wanted to have her checked for those... and we wanted to have her food allergies rechecked to see if she still has them. and also check on cats & dogs- we've seen a recent reaction to cats. she's been taking zyrtec pretty regularly since the spring, and we had to stop it 5 days before her appointment... and her hives were CRAZY. so so bad! we were thankful that we had an appointment coming up. we told her allergist everything & showed him photos of her recent hives. he said that it would be rare for it to be new food allergies... which we were thinking it wasn't because they never happen around the times that she eats. he said it's most likely just an immune system thing... and that hives aren't showing that something worse is going on in the body. he thought it was crazy that she has them so bad, because he often prescribes a medicine that is similar to her anti-rejection medicine that suppresses the immune system causing the hives to calm down. he said to continue on the zyrtec, and even up it one more dose a day if needed. he then did a skin test for the top food allergies plus tree nuts, watermelon, and cats & dogs. millie did awesome! her strongest reaction was to cats and then walnuts. he is thinking that she may no longer have her watermelon & egg allergies, but needs a blood test to confirm that. we will have that done is the next few weeks... if it shows that she doesn't, then she will go in & eat the foods at the doctor's office to be safe- and then she will be cleared of those! she still needs an epi-pen for tree nuts... which is bummer.
the best day to go to the fair... the day that every ride is only one ticket!
thankful that caroline was tall enough to ride all of the little rides without an adult this summer!
the one big kid ride that millie could ride without an adult... and she LOVED it.
she rode it 5 times. she wanted to ride some of the other big kid rides, but i couldn't ride them because of caroline.

g decided to take millie back to the fair the same night to ride the other big kid rides!
