100th day of school!

another great month in kindergarten!

sunday at the skating rink.

finally checked out the recently re-opened skating rink... i remember skating here in early high school with friends. and we invited sophie to join! it wasn't easy for the girls, but they still had fun. there weren't any 'helpers' when we arrived, so g had to rent skates & hold hands with caroline. millie brought her own roller blades that she was able to shuffle around on slowly. towards the end of the time, people began to abandon the 'helpers' so we were able to grab one for caroline to use- helped her a lot! and we ended up having a fun evening with sophie's family when we went to her house to drop her off- pizza & beers & happily playing kids.

checked in to our hotel, put on our layers, & headed to the tubing hill at timber ridge!

day one!

the ski boot waddle.

i hadn't been skiing in 10years, and hadn't been to bittersweet in michigan since my high school youth group days.

ski school for both girls!

we were shocked to see millie's teacher taking her up the ski lift after just a few times on the school runs!

while the girls were in ski school, we went on a few runs together... and spotted millie coming down the green run.

after ski school, we did some family runs down the green hill- millie was ok on her own & g took caroline down between his skis. thankful that he is a great skier. i'm fine on easy runs going pretty slow... but i am of no help to the girls.

it was tricky to figure out the lift with the girls & how to get off without falling... but we figured it out!

day two!

by the end of day2, she was zooming straight down the green runs. she is already a better skier than her mama.

hoping we can make it a yearly thing... we had a great time.
