our week.

monday's entertainment by millie... "i want to be belle and sing the song about her reading books." over & over & over.
dance class... they just found out that their recital song is olaf's song from frozen.
tuesday's entertainment by millie... still performing to the belle song, but as elsa.
caroline loves her crib. she's been napping well, and sleeping overnight in it without waking up too many times. it has been life-changing to have time after the girls are in bed... and to not have to share my side of the bed. it is truly a miracle that it has been an easy transition. i expected weeks of hard nights, but she has been awesome.
she just started the messy eating stage, and i am already ready for it to be done. she likes cottage cheese.
hooray for the weekend!

house progress. the basement.

next step: decorate the walls!

millie's twenty-second week of preschool.

week 22.
her tuesday creation. she was running around the house saying, "1, 2, 3, blast off!"
her thursday "show & smell." we had a hard time finding something that went with the week's theme of space.
her thursday creation.

our weekend.

sweet sisters. thanks to susan for the matching shirts!
i got a keurig so coffee is now a part of my morning... having two kids makes you do crazy things.
my parents spent most of the day saturday & sunday helping with house projects... so awesome! it's exciting to get things on the walls. i really really like these curtains from ikea that we hung in the craft room, and the chalkboard hung in granny's house in her basement when g was a kid. i love that the girls can now have it in their playroom.
the playroom is slowly coming together... mainly because if i ever work on it when millie is around it ends up getting messier & crazier because she is excited to see toys that she hasn't seen since colorado. and i'm super excited about this table & chairs. i found the set of chairs at goodwill 4 for $10, which was a great deal, and my dad helped put together a table- we bought a round tabletop and he added the brackets & legs. i think it will be a great spot for pretend meals & playdoh making.
more playroom decoration... this is opposite a huge pulldown usa map.
and this girl has been doing awesome sleeping in her crib. i wasn't planning to do it while g was out of town, but i decided to put her to sleep in her crib on friday night at bedtime- she slept 8hours straight! i was so excited. i put her to sleep in her crib last night... she fell asleep on her own after just a few minutes of crying and slept for 11HOURS straight! so crazy. i was so worried that the transition from cosleeping would be terrible, but this has given me hope that it may not be too bad. i know sleep changes often with milestones & teeth, but i'm just happy to know that she can sleep well in her crib & that i can now have my side of the bed entirely to myself again!
and daddy's home! (he went to MO for sean's bachelor party.) we had dinner & watched the oscars' red carpet at grams & gramps' house. thankful that we can go to our parents' houses for cable!

our week.

caroline had her 9month appointment on monday. i forgot my phone, so i don't have any photos from the appointment. she is on track for fine motor skills, problem solving skills, & social skills... but not gross motor skills- which we knew. she still isn't showing any signs of wanting to crawl. i'm going to call to have her evaluated for PT, but her doctor seems to think that she may just be stubborn because she seems strong. (she weighs 17pounds 7ounces.)
most everything that millie loves in one mess on her floor. her room looks like this most days, but gets mostly cleaned up before she gets in bed. all of her toys that have small pieces are kept in her closet, which is most everything she plays with right now. barbies, shopkins, princesses, palace pets... and everything needed to play with them.
tv time in mama's bed in the morning. paw patrol is the favorite right now... thanks to grams & gramps for the dvds!
we visited daddy at work... and huge 'way to go' to him! he passed another big test for his job this week!
she came and got me to be an audience for her show... "like the beauty & the beast show that we went to." she set up a stage, seated an audience, found the music, and made every prince & princess dance to their song. loved it.
something i want to remember... the way she puts her feet up on me. and our matching slippers.
family movie night. we saw pete's dragon in the electrical parade at disney world, and i wanted to see it again.
millie's 4year appointment. she's perfect & no shots! (she weighs 34pounds & is 39inches tall.)
we celebrated millie's birthday with uncle chris tonight. we were planning to celebrate this weekend with a party, but the snow that is supposed to come changed our plans. chris took her to toysrus to pick out a gift (shopkins- of course), we went to dinner at steaknshake with grams, gramps, & great grandma, and then we came back to the house for dessert & a few more presents. g is out of town for the weekend, so it was nice to have dinner & evening plans!
and a little playtime before bed. i think i prefer pretend grocery with shopkins over pretend grocery with a big cart & pretend food. less work and i can sit the whole time! this is probably her favorite activity to do with her little princesses.

millie's twenty-first week of preschool.

week 21.
her tuesday creation.
red, white, & blue day and her day to bring her birthday snack... she picked vanilla ice cream cups with colorful spoons.
the birthday flag is out & the birthday sign is in the window! she was pretty excited to celebrate her birthday at school.
her thursday "show & smell."
her thursday creations.
she's been telling me about the birthday pillowcases that they decorate for everyone's birthdays since the beginning of the year... now it makes so much more sense! i always thought that they were doing handprints with paint.
and she got all of her classmate's valentines since she missed the party while we were in florida.

forty-eight months.

millie's forty-eighth month...
- she is wearing 3T & 4T clothes and size8 shoes.
- she still isn't potty trained overnight.
- she still loves her blankie.
- she is back in dance class & loving it.
- she calls her placemat her mattress.
- she has a crazy good memory. i am amazed at the details & things that she remembers.
- she loves shopkins & princesses & paw patrol right now.
- she is a performer. she sings & dances & dresses up almost daily.
- every time i ask what she wants to eat, she says macaroni n cheese. she doesn't get it.
- she drinks a ton of milk. and water. she doesn't like juice.
- whenever she gives names to toys/dolls she starts rhyming nonsense words.
- she sings original millie songs all day long... about what she is doing or what her toys are doing.
- she is beginning to interact & play with caroline... stopping what she is doing to make caroline laugh or show her something. she is also showing a lot more jealousy when caroline gets attention.
-  she loves school and has never once not wanted to go.
- she is beginning to get a bit frustrated when she can't quite explain something so that we can understand her. or if she is telling someone else a story she will motion to me to explain for her if she can't explain it or forgets words.
- she went to ohio & saw lots of extended family at granny's funeral.
- she went to disney world & met all of the princesses. she's asked to go back a few times.
- she officially loves golfcart rides.
- and she is 4. holy cow.
this is the last month update for millie... i can't believe i did it for 48months!
