a challenge.

still loving instagram.

learning to cut bread.

she's a bit young for this little food playset... but she loved slicing the bread with my help. she kept putting the loaf back together and signing more. i love seeing her excitement about learning something new. and her determination to do it on her own.

the renaissance festival.

i have been wanting to go to the renaissance festival for years! and today was finally the day!
the sights & tastes of the festival! it was a very impressive place... it was a huge!
-
the only area that millie could get out her stroller and explore... she was so good all day.
this guy and the hypnotist were so fun to watch.
what a fun day!
and because we like to pack as many things as possible into one day... we also went to two parties tonight! a goodbye party for our friend phil and an olympic watching party at tim & andrea's. millie rocked some stonewash jeans for the evening. and was a great little chica for how little she napped today.

swim caps and a world record.

how could we not participate in something so awesome!
millie was completely cool with wearing the swim cap... probably because it actually fit her head comfortably. it did not fit mine comfortably. those things are super tight! and hot!
i thought it was just going to be millie & i... so happy that g could make it after work!
i havent heard the official news yet... im hoping we made the record book!
after the official count for the world record, everyone at the park made their way downtown for the olympic celebration. it was crazy... so many people! we saw a few entertaining acts, waited in line for over an hour for dinner, hung out with katie & james, and watched bits of the opening ceremony. after millie showed off some of her sweet dance moves... and after we met kristi yamaguchi, we headed home. millie was ready and a country music concert was about to start- g was not about to sit and listen. i would have loved to stay and see the torch lighting & the fireworks, but my feet weren't loving the idea and neither was millie.
kristi yamaguchi!
and a pair of red skinnies. what a great night!

she's growing.

75 weeks.
shirt & red skinnies- old navy

a reading fair.

millie & i spent our morning at the library with friends... there was a reading fair in celebration of the end of the summer reading program. millie was a bit young for most of the activities, but it is always fun to get out and spend time with friends. and it was free fun! hudson & corbin had lots of fun seeing a helicopter and getting to sit in a fire truck. i love boys & their love of things that move! they all played with bubbles, played with hula hoops, and slam dunked bean bags in the frog's mouth. and got their pictures with storm troopers.
millie did not like the storm troopers.

on the back porch.

bubbles in the morning...
and painting with water in the afternoon.
we rarely hang out on our back porch... it has a large dropoff from the edge of the patio to the grass, not super safe for a little one. i decided to give it a try today since millie is beginning to listen to directions better, and she is also beginning to recognize edges that she needs to be careful near. it ended up being a nice place to hang out... not ideal, i would love a great back yard, but it worked! and it is also nicely shaded for a large part of the day. she is loving bubbles lately, and she really liked painting/playing with water. i am liking our summer days! and my jellies!

a dinner party.

Our friend Melissa, and her husband Ben, have just become licensed to be foster parents. They will be taking little ones into their home for an unknown amount of time to love and care for them. We are so excited for them... they will be wonderful parents to these little ones. They heard from the Lord that this was their family's next step, and they listened. How awesome is that! The kgroup girls decided to surprise Melissa with a dinner party in celebration of her becoming a foster mama! It was a wonderful night. Lots of memories & stories told, tasty food & wine, and close girlfriends together laughing around the table. We love you Melissa!

bright colors, fruit, and flowers seemed perfect & summery for the table!
thrifted mason jars, plates from hobby lobby summer clearance, berry baskets from target summer clearance, thrifted cloth napkins, paper doilies from the michaels $1.50spot, strawberry coasters & cards from the target $spot, and the perfect piece of lemon fabric from the cheap section of walmart fabric. and flowers from walmart!
it is so fun to celebrate one another!

our day.

exercise with tots at villa.
a crazy 30minutes... and millie loved it!
smelling our flowers at walmart.
playing in the sink after lunch... she threw a fit when i made her stop. sassy, sassy.
and we took a quick walk after millie's nap to collect a few weeds. these flowers are all over the empty lots in our neighborhood.
