our weekend.

day of dance at the mall. we came to watch the competition teams from millie's studio, dmg, perform in the afternoon. she could have sat there all day watching the different dance groups.
goodbye miss cube. we will miss you.
hello honda element. g and i switched cars a few months ago... the cube was too small for the girls & i, so i started driving the 4runner again. g wasn't crazy about driving the cube for the next few years, so he started looking for a car for him. he was between a civic & an element, and ended up picking an element. i think it's a great car for him... and it's a manual, so i won't be driving it until i get a lesson from g someday.

i think ariel is her favorite princess... she calls her "rella," which is what she calls any disney princess that she sees.
this is what we get when we ask caroline to smile for a photo.

their first daddy-daughter dance.

a local dance studio, not millie's, hosted a daddy-daughter dance as a fundraiser for their dance team. it was dinner & dancing... and they had a photographer there for photos. they had pasta for dinner, made a princess crown craft, and then g said that millie spent the a lot of the time running circles around the gym & dancing with her friend and a few other little girls. she came home hyper, and said that she had fun. i know that she loved the time with her daddy.
sophia from her tap class was there with her dad... he took a few photos at the dance & his wife posted them on facebook.
another one from facebook.
and one from g... she was very excited to have sprite with her dinner!

and a little throwback to a few girl scouts daddy-daughter dances with my dad!

preschool. year two. week twenty-two.

her monday creation.
letter of the week.
caroline didn't want to miss out on silly socks day.
i love that she loves school... she was bummed to have a snow day on wednesday.
her friday creations.

during their post office/valentine's day week, each student picked someone to mail a letter to... and asked for that person to write them back. two little girls in her class, bella & violet, picked millie to send their letters to- so cute!
millie picked her friend ella in colorado to write to... she got her letter from ella today!

our week.

she wore millie's crocs over her mocs for hours.
millie's dress arrived for her daddy-daughter dance this weekend... caroline said "rella!" as soon as she saw it. she thought it was a cinderella dress for her to wear.
she is starting to make her dolls talk to one another... mostly gibberish with a few words that i can understand. and some kisses.
we celebrated national margarita day.
millie's 5year appointment. 41pounds & 42inches- 50th percentile for both. passed her hearing test & her eye exam. her eyes weren't perfect, but no need for glasses or a more legit exam with an eye doctor... maybe in the next few years.
barbies have way cooler shoes now than when i played...
millie got quite a few of these new disney princess dolls for her birthday... the girls are loving them.
millie & i had a girls' night out at jill's house for a jamberry party.
snow day games with millie. there are some cute $3 games in the dollar spot at target right now.
snow day!
a sweet sister moment. / hot chocolate... caroline wasn't a fan. she just wanted the marshmallows.
an evening in indianapolis looking at cars... g is wanting to trade the cube for a honda element or civic.

millie the shoppie.

such a fun keepsake to have from her shopkin lovin' days! i want to get one framed for her room.

a shopkins birthday party for millie.

Millie chose to have a Shopkins themed party for her 5th birthday... I definitely wasn't surprised! She loves them just as much as she did over a year ago when she got her first set. There aren't many Shopkins party supplies out there... they are just starting to pop up in stores. I was able to get plates, napkins, and cups at WalMart & a few days before the party I was finally able to find a few things at Party City. There was just a small end cap of decorations... I was happy to find a few banners. I used a seller on Etsy for her invitations. It was my first time doing that, and I was super happy with how they turned out and how easy & cheap they were to print them- 1hour WalMart photo prints. Millie enjoyed helping me prepare for the party, which I loved. I didn't let her help me set it all up though... I wanted it to be a surprise when she woke up. She loved walking around looking at all of the details, & was excited to give her grandparents a tour when they arrived before the party. I love that she sees the details... those are my favorite things to do for a party, and I'm guessing they are missed by most. The party went well. I was overwhelmed at times... it was a lot of little girls and a lot of adults too- probably half of the parents stayed and also our families were there. They all seemed to enjoy the crafts & bingo & snacks. And we were so proud of Millie... she was a great birthday girl. She was sweet to her friends, she included everyone & tried to not to play favorites, and was sweet & thankful while she was opening presents. I can't believe she's 5!

millie wrote the names on all of the favor bags & helped fill them- a snack, a few plastic bracelets (found in valentines's day clearance at target), and little princess activity set with a mini coloring book, sticker, & crayon.
marty party hats (made to look like a season4 shopkin) that millie helped make & two crafts/activities for the girls- white barbie dresses (bought on etsy) that could be decorated with fabric markers & a bottlecap necklace (bought a set of 20 on amazon) with a shopkins picture (bought on etsy) in it. we put less in their favor bags since they got to make these.
my dad made some of millie's duplicate shopkins into charms, so that they could add them to their bottlecap necklaces.
june balloon... a season4 shopkin. found some great images to print on the shopkins website.
shoppies... and millie as a shoppie. i found someone on etsy that made a millie shoppie. he needed a photo of millie, her eye color, and her favorite shopkin for the colors & design of her outfit. millie's favorite shopkin is the pink millie shake.
we had popcorn, pretzels, cheese, grapes, & juice pouches for snack.
millie wanted cupcakes & little cups of ice cream from schwan's.
our only party game... shopkins bingo with fun prizes.
it was a crazy party with 12 little girls! half of them are friends from preschool... two are granddaughters of nana's friends, one is jess's niece, one is a mops friend, and one is from dance/tap class. they were all so sweet, and seemed to have a lot of fun. it was millie's first party with friends that i really don't know very well. and i only know their parents from chatting for a few minutes before school drop-off & pick-up... so different from our kgroup days!
after the party, we went out to lunch at pizza king with chris, jess, my parents, and sophie's family.
we spent our afternoon at home... caroline napped while millie played with new toys. and had kona ice! it was such a beautiful day (mid 60s) that the kona ice truck came through our neighborhood! can't wait for the warm weather to stay!
