on our way home from dance class this morning, millie says "mommy has a baby in her tummy!" i asked her where she'd heard this news, and she said that daddy told her last night. we hadn't really told her anything yet about me being pregnant or her becoming a big sister... but i guess the timing was right, because she came with me to my 16week appointment and had lots of questions about why i was at the doctor. and she got to hear the heartbeat! my appointment went well... i've gained 1pound so far and the heart rate sounded great- that's about all that was checked. i was also super excited to hear that we can have the gender ultrasound done on 12/20, right before our trip to indiana for christmas. it will be fun to share the news with everyone in person!

decorating the tree.

we woke up too late for church, so we went out for donuts and got an early start to decorating the tree! millie was inpatient and hated waiting for the building of the tree & the stringing of the lights... she was crazy excited to hang the ornaments. she had so much fun looking through the boxes- all we heard over & over again was, "i LOVE this one!" and for her new ornaments this year she chose a camping ornament for her hallmark ornament from grams, and a doc mcstuffins ornament from target. she was excited for both... i guess she really loved camping this summer!

the potty.

we are slowly starting potty training... millie's been asking to go potty more & more recently. she knows that most of her friends use the potty, so i think she is ready to be with the big girls! she asks to go at least once a day, and almost always goes. we aren't asking her to go at all. we are just waiting for her to ask for now... we are going to wait until after the first of the year to start undies and really encourage it all day long. we are driving to indiana for christmas and our schedule may be crazy, so i'm wanting to keep it easy with diapers- since mama is the one with the stress of it all!

bass pro shops.

we took advantage of the snowy weather to see the new bass pro on their grand opening day... we didn't have to wait for a photo with santa, there weren't any crowds, we had a short wait for the restaurant, and then had the bowling alley to ourselves. it was millie's first time bowling, and she loved it. the store isn't really our thing, but the free santa photos & the bowling alley are awesome!

snow.

i told millie that she couldn't go out to see the snow in just her jams... so i came downstairs to find her like this searching for the right jacket. she keeps us laughing.

millie was unsure & nervous at first about how big they were... but by the second act realized that they werent going to leave the stage. she ended up loving it! thanks to nana for taking us!

thirty-three months.

millie's thirty-third month...

- she is wearing 24month & 2T clothes.

- she is still wearing size4 diapers.

- she is wearing mostly size6 shoes.

- her doctors have been making changes in her doses of tacro this month which means more labs than normal... the results have been coming back normal for liver numbers.

- she is still napping 2-3.5hours a day. she has been a turkey about going to bed at bedtime... sometimes talking and calling for us for over an hour in her crib. she is still sleeping great overnight.

- she dressed up as a monkey, a peanut, and abby cadabby for halloween.

- she has finally conquered stringing wooden blocks/beads.

- she always gives us things and tells us which are our favorites. anything blue is always daddy's favorite and mama's favorite it normally pink.

- instead of "i don't like it." she says, "millie can't like it."

- she thinks she is going to have a baby sister.

- i've been told many times by the villa kids workers, church nursery workers, and mama friends that the first thing she does when she sees them is shows off her shoes... which is funny because she doesn't seem to care what she wears when we are at home and i've never seen her do it!

- she is loving craft time, especially if there is gluing involved.

- she can identify at least 1/3 of the letters in the alphabet. she shocked us the last time we did the alphabet puzzle with her... we had no clue that she knew so many!

- she's gone a few times on the potty... we are taking a slow approach to potty training. hopefully she will be in undies after the first of the year, after our holiday travels.

- and she still skips 5 when she counts to 10.

it was so much fun to celebrate katie! she's put up with all of us mamas talking about our littles for years... i cant wait for her to have beckett- january will be here so soon!

i'm growing. fourteen weeks.

our week.

millie has spent lots of time with nana & papa this week... while she was home with us- she fell in love with her cookie monster slippers, gave her toys lots of check-ups, and went swimming with ella & abby at villa. she has loved her time at their house, and we are thankful for the time alone.
