a weekend in centralia.

susan and g's aunt cindy had a class reunion in centralia, so we decided to come along for the weekend to spend time with family. we stayed at g's uncle barry's house. the reunion events were friday & saturday night, so we spent the evenings with barry, g's cousin kristie, and her husband josh- dinner out and a movie back at the house both nights. during the day on saturday we went to an apple orchard to pick apples, spent some time at a few parks, and relaxed at the house- i even got to take a nap! we slept as a family in one room which was a bit rough with caroline... so mama needed a nap!

preschool. year two. week three.

her monday creation.
field trip day! a city bus ride to the bus depot and back. no parents allowed on this field trip.
the only thing that she told me about the field trip was that she sat by her friend sadie on the bus.
letter of the week.
her friday creation. they all got to pick a beanie baby for their wagon.
and another friday creation. millie & caroline are in the back window together... love that she gave herself curly hair!

our week.

thursday mornings are now BSF mornings... susan is doing the study this year, and offered to take the girls with her to the children's program- which means i have a few hours at home by myself every week! i'm so thankful that susan is willing to do this... now i will have a clean house every week!
we both look forward to holidays... it means new & exciting projects to work on!
why must they neeeeeed to bring so much stuff with them to the store...
she was practically yelling into her phone the whole time we were at meijer... it was so dang cute.
she's mastered the blowing bubbles face... now i just need to fill the thing with bubbles.

an appointment at riley and the children's museum.

waking up at 7:15 is rough... for millie & mama.
a 9am ultrasound meant no food after midnight, so millie had a special treat for breakfast when she was finished.
39pounds. 41inches. a perfect physical exam. labs were rough at first, but she did great.
we will know ultrasound & lab results in a week or two... we aren't expecting to see anything wrong. her liver is great!
lunch downtown before the children's museum!
we decided to spend the day in indianapolis with just millie... we loved it! thanks to nana for keeping caroline all day.
we did the whole museum with no stroller!
this area, the playscape, is new since we last went a few years ago... it's awesome!
water play, an awesome toddler/baby play area, a climbing area, sand play, art area, music room, and lots of interactive play. the art & music areas have classes throughout the day, which i was bummed that we missed. i can't wait to bring caroline to the museum just for this room... she will love it. and a bonus is that this area is only for kids 5 and younger.
we played with sand for a long time. there were two turntables that never stopped turning, which was a lot of fun, and lots of different sand tools to make patterns & shapes in the sand. loved it.
we are really considering getting a family membership... it's an hour drive, but i think it would be worth it once a month or every 6weeks to come spend time playing & exploring. we were there for the afternoon and moved pretty quickly through the whole museum... and could have spent more time in many of the areas playing. i think with holiday exhibits & other new exhibits coming in, we would definitely enjoy coming back more than once a year- and one more visit as a family pretty much pays for the membership. so we'll see!

caroline loved her time with nana... and chuck!

exploration acres.

we've been going to clear river church more & more... we both like lots about it, so our church search may be over. they celebrated their 9th anniversary this week with a celebration at exploration acres. we've been to exploration acres a few times, before we moved back with my family & also last year with the purdue alumni club. we like going... and like it even more when we don't need to pay to get it- it's a bit pricey. millie & caroline both loved it this year. they especially loved the slide & the horse swings.

she's growing.

72 weeks.

a sunday hike at happy hollow.

a pre-hike walk at home... clip-ons, shades, a phone, & yoga pants. oh my.
our first family hike at happy hollow.
we like hiking in indiana... no altitude & small hills.
after dinner we met nana & papa at columbian park for pizza... and then we fed the ducks!
