our sixth week of social distancing.

keeping their hands busy while we watch/listen to church.
one of our best thrift store finds... they love this set & whenever i post a photo of the girls using it on instagram, i always have someone ask where we got it- $2 at goodwill!
thankful that they finally want to ride bikes... it's been years of us encouraging them to ride, but both of them saying no.
another socially distanced bike riding date with chloe.
caroline's teacher often includes links to fun youtube videos in their weekly lesson plans. we fell down a rabbit hole of videos by koo koo kangaroo- leading us to their fart song & poop song. they are quite clever with their words & the movements are so dang funny- lots of laughs!
virtual game night with luke & jessica in LA, cal & joyce in CO, and susan & cort.
millie's teacher enjoys doing watercolors, so she did a virtual watercolor lesson for anyone in her class that wanted to give it a try. so sweet of her... we miss school.
driveway dinner with grams & gramps.
picked up mcdonald's (one of the only times we've had food from a restaurant since this all started!) & met friends at prophetstown for a socially distanced outdoor hangout... we needed to see friends.

practicing her spelling words.

it's dinosaur week in kindergarten... so they made paleontologist vests.
still playing with worms.
toilet paper sundaes & disinfecting wipes always near... times are weird.
another 'playdate' for caroline & kambrie.
another great thrift find...
g made a saturday morning donut run.
love that these 'playdates' are keeping them connected... and they seem to be enough for right now.
mask ads are starting to pop up on instagram...

our fifth week of social distancing.

gathering things for caroline's indoor scavenger hunt- her class will now be doing a google meet-up once a week with a different type of activity. and there are three times to choose from to make the groups smaller- so the calls aren't super long with lots of kids sharing. her teacher is on it & doing a great job making it easy for parents & fun for kids.
it's dinosaur week for art class.
love seeing them play with toys again.
showing her indoor scavenger hunt finds to her class- something red.
grams & gramps bought caroline a beam for her zoom gymnastics classes.
kinetic sand 'playdate' with kambrie.
a science experiment for millie's e-learning... egg in vinegar & food coloring for a few days.

caroline's class often did 'write the room' activities in their classroom. her teacher assigned one for e-learning and since this week is about eggs & chicks, she suggested putting the words in eggs & doing an egg hunt. caroline loved it.
introduced millie to the 'bim bum' song... a favorite of caroline's from school.
heard lots of sirens & went out to see what was going on... a bunch of WL police cars were parked across the street to wish a little girl a happy birthday. i've seen this happening on social media in other cities too- a way to make birthdays special while kids are stuck at  home.
family bike ride.
early in the day i looked out our back window & told g that i thought it looked like our neighbors might be having a backyard wedding. during a quick bike ride around the neighborhood with the girls, i spoke to the mom of the groom & found out that yes- they are having an evening wedding! i mentioned that i have a friend who is a photographer that might be willing to take some photos for them- they said yes, please & michelle said yes. the girls & i stood right inside their fence to watch- so special & definitely a unique memory for these weird times! and totally random... the bride is a kindergarten teacher at the girls' school! congrats to will & catlin!
another day, another video call with kambrie. this time they were stretching together.
found these at the store for the first time in weeks...
better late than never...
a 'virtual sleepover' with wren & chloe... laughs, snacks, & a movie that they all started at the same time.
caroline made ursula.
digging holes for new trees in the backyard... which started their new-found love for worms.
ugh.
g took the girls with him to rural king to get fertilizer... and they came home with these. gross.
