g's parents arrived last night, so we had dinner out at hacienda tonight... one of our favorites because of the view from the patio- the weather was perfect for dinner outside.

caroline slept an 8hour stretch & millie was still asleep at 10am- the best anniversary gift... sleep! we spent the day as a family at the north pole, had a bbq lunch at rudy's, and watched our wedding video with millie for the first time.

forty months.

millie's fortieth month...

- she is wearing mostly 3T clothes & size7 shoes.
- she normally eats a big lunch or a big dinner... rarely both.

- she very rarely has accidents... i would say she is potty trained- except for naps & overnight.  
- she is an awesome big sister... she puts her pacifier in when she is crying, she sings songs to her in the sweetest little voice, she lets me know when her "eyes are awake" or if she is asleep, she asks about her first thing in the morning when she wakes up, and always wants us to include her in everything we do- it's been great. no jealousy or acting out because it's not all about her anymore.
- she loves to swing & to climb at parks... still doesn't like slides.
- she can now name all the disney princesses & their princes... my favorite is rapunzel's prince- eugene or as millie calls him, "blue jean." and i never correct her.
- she still doesn't get out of her bed after bedtime or in the morning... she calls for me & waits until i come in her room to get out of bed. it's pretty awesome. 
- she is doing very well with writing letters... she can watch us write the letter and then write it herself. our favorite letters are her Es & Fs- she goes a bit crazy with them.
- she is counting to 20 almost perfectly.
- she started calling people "knucklehead."
- she loves wrestling with daddy... and jumping on him.
- she will tell stories, and say "remeber" in the cutest way.
- she says "pocorn" and misses the second p.
- she was in her first dance recital.
- she went to her first vacation bible school- frozen school!

frozen vacation bible school.

I can't believe that Millie is old enough for vacation bible school! Our church was so smart this year, and chose Frozen for their VBS theme- Millie couldn't wait for Frozen school! Sarah, Ella's mom, was a leader for one of the preschool groups, so I felt really good about sending Millie- I thought it would help for her to know her "teacher" and also for her to have Ella in her group, since she hasn't been to preschool or daycare before. Abby was also in her group... she loved getting to see her friends every morning. It was Wednesday through Friday for 3hours in the morning, and she was super worn out from all the fun every time I picked her up. She was not nervous to leave me when I dropped her off, and I watched her dance & sing the songs when I snuck in early to pick her up every day. She loved it. They had a family event on Friday evening followed by a picnic at a park near the church... it was a great way for all of the parents to see a little bit about what they learned. It was so well done! And I loved having a few mornings with just Caroline to get some errands done!

i'm once again thankful for Gabby's mama, Hope, who offered to take these photos so we didn't have to pay for the crazy expensive professional ones being offered by the school. it's crazy to see how much she has changed in just the few months since her last dance photos were taken... i'm so thankful for my parents and their willingness to pay for her dance classes. she loves it.
