we finally had our first appointment at riley with millie's new liver doctor, dr. molleston. we've been spoiled by having history with a wonderful team & a super nice facility at children's in denver, so our expectations were crazy high. our new doctor is going to be good, and she knows dr. mack in denver- so we love that. and we like our new transplant coordinator... which is truly one of the most important people to me, because that is my contact person for all things liver. the facility isn't nearly as exciting as children's, but that isn't important compared to the medical team. millie's checkup went well. she is 33pounds & 38inches. she got a flu shot and had labs done for the first time in a few months... we are still waiting to hear the results. her new doctor likes to see her patients in clinic every 6months, and likes to have labs done once a month. we are fine with the clinic appointments (denver only wanted yearly visits), but we are thinking we may want to push labs to every 6-8weeks. i don't want her poked if all of her numbers are stable & no changes have been made to her medicine... and we have private insurance now with a crazy high deductible. she didn't have labs done on a schedule like this is denver, and we never felt like her numbers needed to be monitored more often.
