The shower was a ton of fun! We ate some tasty treats, played a fun game, and watched presents be opened. I was very happy with the outcome of my first ever baby shower... I can't wait to host more!

final preparations.
I spent most of my day today finishing up the final preparations for the baby shower that I am hosting tomorrow. I have really enjoyed planning and creating for this shower! It is for 3 mommies-to-be that are on my team at Compassion.

hanging the banner that i made.
I made these super cute and super easy candy pacifiers for the shower guests' favors. G's mom, Susan, gave me the idea.
wilton candy melts.
jelly beans and lifesaver mints.
just a little melting... and voila!
I decorated a basket for each mommy-to-be... to take home their gifts from the shower and for toy storage when baby comes!

We got a package in the mail today... a surprise to me. G found these beauties on eBay to add to our bookend collection.

insulation... check!
I went by the house today after work and found some exciting progress... insulation. Woohoo! We have a pre-drywall walk through next Tuesday so they can show us what is going on behind our walls. So drywall is in the near future... and then lets get those cabinets in!!

thunderbirds.
Compassion let all of their employees enjoy a long lunch outside today to watch the Thunderbirds perform at the Air Force Academy Graduation. Our parking lot is a perfect spot to watch the show. It was a great time to have fellowship with my coworkers... and G came! The weather was beautiful and the show was awesome!

bookends.
So I had this awesome idea to start a bookend collection. They will be displayed with our books on the built-ins in our loft. I am happy to say that G is completely on board... I love that we both enjoy odd things in our home. We are currently searching at Goodwills and Arcs to find the perfect ones... and we have started the collection with some amazing finds.

congrats kevin.
Our good friend, Kevin, recently graduated from Denver Seminary with a masters in counseling. We celebrated with him at a party tonight that his wife threw! Great food, great friends, and great fellowship. We are so excited for Kevin & Jen... no more school!

I made some fun snacks for the party... I figured if I didn't make graduation snacks now it will be a few years until I'll have the chance again. I found this idea on a blog that I read... Bakerella. Super easy and super cute!

while i was gone.
Our house grew like crazy while I was home in Indiana. G was a great husband and drove to the house every other day to check on the progress. From the Friday before I left to Tuesday... they finished the siding, put in the front door, poured concrete for the garage floor, did some work on the roof, and brought in the fireplace.

A ton of things happened on the inside from Tuesday to Thursday... we got a water heater, some plumbing, electrical wiring and outlets, a few bathtubs, and our outdoor water spicket.

We stopped by on our way home from the airport so we could see what all happened the past two days... and so I could see everything from the past week! Nothing major seemed to be new... just a few posts on the front porch.

chicago.
I spent a couple of days in Chicago with my mom and Susan to celebrate Mother's Day and their birthdays. We shopped on Michigan Avenue, ate at fun restaurants, and went to see Legally Blonde The Musical. Seeing this musical was more special than any other I have seen before, because a friend of mine from high school, Cortney, is on this national tour! It was so awesome to see her perform!

moms are the best.
Happy Mother's Day! G and I have really awesome moms! We are so thankful for all that they do for us... they are really amazing. We love you both tons!

We were able to celebrate with my mom in Indianapolis before G left to fly back to Colorado. It was so nice to have the whole family together... and eat Arni's pizza!
