cinderella.

 Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman

She spins and she sways to whatever song plays
Without a care in the world
And I'm sitting here wearing
The weight of the world on my shoulders
It's been a long day and there's still work to do
She's pulling at me saying, "Dad, I need you
There's a ball at the castle and I've been invited
And I need to practice my dancing, oh please, daddy, please"

So I will dance with Cinderella while she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella, I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight and she'll be gone

She says he's a nice guy and I'd be impressed
She wants to know if I approve of the dress
She says, "Dad the prom is just one week away
And I need to practice my dancing, oh please, daddy, please"

So I will dance with Cinderella while she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella, I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight and she'll be gone
She will be gone

But she came home today with a ring on her hand
Just glowing and telling us all they had planned
She says, "Dad, the wedding's still six months away
And I need to practice my dancing, oh please, daddy, please"

So I will dance with Cinderella while she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella, I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight and she'll be gone

i really like this song.
he is such an awesome daddy... our girls will always have a dance partner.

millie's fourth week at preschool.

week 4.
thank goodness she had sweet pink cowboy boots for wild west week!
her tuesday creation.
her first time bringing snack & this is what she picked!
dress like a cowpoke day! even caroline dressed like a cowpoke, thanks to a $3 onesie from walmart!
she was excited to take snack... she said that the person that brings snack gets a special seat during snack time.
the first thing she told me about when she got in the car was that she had "root toot coffee. but not coffee. root beer."
her thursday creation.
in the most recent newsletter, miss linda explained Busy Day 1cent Sales... they happen about once a month. each kid gets 10pennies to buy special things. it teaches them counting & one-to-one correspondence with numbers. they pick their items, count out their pennies, and then have their items bagged up to take home.

and we loved our time with old friends...
it was just a little different than our college days together!

millie's third week of preschool.

week 3.
her tuesday creation.
her thursday "show & smell." (tuesdays they can bring anything, & thursdays it needs to relate to the theme of the week.)
her thursday creation.
Millie's teacher, Miss Linda, hands out a newsletter every Tuesday that lists the previous week's activities and information about upcoming events at Busy Day. I love getting to read about Millie's time at school, and it helps me get more information out of her by asking her specific questions about what she has been learning... it's hard to get too much from her if I just ask what she did at school. The latest newsletter told parents what a normal schedule looks like at Busy Day- free play for the first half hour, next is circle time (look at the calendar, dress the weather bunny, sing songs, & talk about the week's theme), then they do several activities that go with the theme (crafts, stories, cooking, science, etc.), snack is next, followed by show & smell, and then they end with a story or large motor activity. I think the use of themed weeks to learn is awesome!

another major mom moment... getting to order from scholastic book orders!

forty-three months.

millie's forty-third month...
- she is wearing 3T clothes & size8 shoes.
- she started preschool & loves it!
- she has lost her ability to play alone... i think that becoming a big sister has made a big difference with this... and also her time with her grandparents- i can't give her the one-on-one time like they can, and she gets frustrated with me. she is constantly asking for us to play/help/be right by her... sometimes i catch her playing independently, but it's pretty rare these days. i miss it.
- she went to a park near my parents' house, and did all of the slides!
- she is writing her name on her own without watching us write it first.
- she is becoming more particular about her clothes.
- and she is always making us laugh... especially caroline!

caroline's four month appointment.

- she is developmentally on track... except for rolling
- she weighs 14pounds, 4ounces.
- she is 25.5inches long.

this was our first appointment with our new pediatrician... i like her, but i miss dr. kiley.

our week.

they put a sold sign on our lot... no other progress yet.
sisters.
how is she big enough for this?!
we miss millie when she spends the night with nana & papa, but we love the alone time with caroline.
thursday evening at nana & papa's... she is crazy good at driving her golf cart.
loving the bibdanas.
cort's cousin, eric, and his girlfriend & daughters stayed with g's parents for a night, so we spent time with them. millie made quick friends with the youngest, kale. she was so sweet to millie, and millie loved the attention from an older kid.
nap time.
rocking our aztec prints... ready for dinner out to celebrate g's birthday with our families.
and presents after dinner back at my parent's house.
