our third week of social distancing.

our church has done an awesome job of having an online kids' church every sunday... they have been giving ideas/challenges at the end of each week to get families to spend time together- this week: an epic 'floor is lava' challenge in your house.
and last week they suggested making a big blanket fort... we decided to make it this week since all of the chairs & ladders were out from the 'floor is lava' challenge. thank goodness i have a huge vintage sheet collection.
ready to spend the night in the fort with their babies.
the official schedule for dmg zoom classes... between the two, they have a class every night of the week. ugh.
monday: ballet & tap for millie.
getting things organized to start e-learning... they will have it 3 days a week.
this week it was WThF... but starting next week & going forward it will be MWF.
since it is the first week, mrs. a is doing a zoom call every day to explain to parents some of the worksheets/activities that they are used to doing in class... making it easier & less confusing for the students- keeping things consistent.
making salt dough.
homeschool is not our jam, but we will make it work! so sad for our girls... they were having a great year.
morning announcements with mr. pearl.
mrs. a has gone above & beyond with her lesson plans & resources. she's so awesome.
took one of caroline's math activities outside.
tuesday & wednesday: gymnastics for caroline. (millie also has jazz at the same time on tuesday.)
she has less planned for school than she was expecting (& hoping for?!). she is doing a great job of staying on top of it all by herself. she has a schedule with assignments/activities listed for each subject... and some of it needs to be turned in on google classroom, maybe half- caroline does not have to turn anything in. i picked up some of her workbooks & textbooks from school, and then there are some things that i needed to print from an email.
it's pirate week!
treasure maps aged with coffee.
mrs. a is keeping up with the themed weeks that they would have been doing in class... this week was about plants.
zoom book club.
her first google meet-up with her teacher & class... they will have one a week on fridays.
another pirate week art lesson... alligator puppet.
out for a walk with the quaranqueens...
keeping our distance.
the girls didn't want to be finished with the fort... but mama wanted her living room back.
not sure how this idea came to be... but we played airport/airplane as family.
found some printables on pinterest.
their 'hotel room' at their final destination.
there aren't many things that make me laugh hard... 'nailed it' is one thing that does. so dang funny.
finished the first 3 days of e-learning...at least 4 more weeks to go. we've only gone to the store for essentials. we are wiping down groceries with clorox wipes. we haven't seen grams & gramps at all. g is still only working at home. it's not looking like it will be back to normal anytime soon.

caroline's eighth month of kindergarten.

dr. seuss week! monday: cat in the hat day.
tuesday: green eggs & ham day.
wacky wednesday!
thursday: fox in socks day.
friday: dress like any dr. seuss character. (she wanted to be cindy lou who for the fun hair... thank goodness i recently found this christmas minnie dress at goodwill- it was perfect!)
it was also 'first friday' for march. i was able to see the morning video announcements for the first time. caroline was on them for reading 600 books. the goal for the year is 1000, and they go on the announcements for every 100.

not the march we were expecting...
