florida. part two. disney day one!

we arrived at magic kingdom just in time to catch the 11:40 show that i had listed on our plans for the day... it was good, but really loud. millie was bit overwhelmed, but i think really liked getting to see the princesses with their princes.
the next thing on our list was to meet sleeping beauty... it was probably the thing she wanted to do most while at disney, and aurora was only in one spot for a small window of time once a day. thank goodness for the disney world app on my phone! it told us what characters were where and for how long. it helped so much for this trip, because it was high priority to meet the princesses. it also kept track of our fast passes, food reservations, and information about parades & shows. and there is wifi, so it didn't take data... but it is hard on your battery, especially if your phone is your camera too! she was first in line, and was proud to show me that she had already written her name in the front of her autograph book before we arrived at the park!
aurora was so sweet to her... she loved that millie was wearing her dress. (i found this dress on etsy.)
and then snow white! cort & g went off to ride space mountain while susan & i took millie to see a few more princesses.
jasmine & aladdin had a longer wait than the first two, but it went quickly. millie was very adamant that she didn't want to meet aladdin or have her photo with him, so he had to step back from the area before millie would go up to jasmine. after finishing with jasmine... the rain started. and didn't stop the rest of the day. ugh.
we did a few indoor rides and had lunch before cort & susan decided to head to the hotel... g & i decided to spend some more time at the park with the girls. the stroller was soaked so millie had to walk, g's coat wasn't waterproof, and i had to wear caroline for hours; but we had a great time. millie was giddy & excited... running & skipping from thing to thing. the rain weirdly made her more excited to be there. it was hard, but ended up being worth it to have super short wait times for rides & characters. and a fun family memory of disney for us. oh and i nursed caroline in the tiki room- crazy for this mama.
millie got to be chip in the beauty & the beast ride/experience... she was excited because her colorado friend, abby, was chip when she went to disney. this was really well done, and millie really seemed to enjoy getting to interact & be part of something with belle. this was our first time seeing it... there is a new fantasyland that has been built since our last time at magic kingdom. there is also a new beauty & the beast restaurant that looks really neat, but we weren't able to get reservations... hopefully on our next disney trip!
they introduced each little kid that participated as "prince/princess & their name"... and then they each got a photo with belle.
ariel had no line to wait in because of the rain. awesome! her grotto is another new part of fantasyland.
and a super short line for daisy & minnie. donald & goofy were in the same area, but millie did not want to meet them.
teacups! caroline slept through the entire ride, and millie kept saying faster! faster! and mama said no way.
and our final thing of the day was a fastpass to meet cinderella & rapunzel... we finished all of the inside rides & characters that we wanted to see right before the time came up to go meet them.
all of the princesses & characters were so sweet. they never rushed her and were always in character... i loved it for her.
and one final princess on the way out. tiana! prince naveen was there with her, but millie did not want him to be by her.
we were bummed to not have perfect weather, but thankful that we had another day with a much better forecast the next day.
and if we can do disney world with two littles in the pouring rain... we can do anything. i'm thankful for a husband & dad that remains chill & calm when things aren't perfect. he goes with the flow, makes things special, and wants to make the most of situations for our family. millie was excited and happy to be there, so we stayed and made it work for her... and caroline was content & warm sleeping most of the time in the carrier. and we are thankful that cort & susan brought an umbrella- that kept caroline & i dry. we would have been coming home with a disney world poncho and an umbrella...
we left the park before having dinner, so we took a bus to our hotel & quickly saw our awesome cars suite before heading out to dinner at one of the other resorts with cort & susan. and then we came back & crashed.
 what a day!
