walls... check!

Hot dog... we have walls! It was so weird to walk around and not be able to see from room to room. It feels like a real HOUSE!

G and I went to a concert tonight. It is one of my favorite things to do with him... we have been to many shows over the years. Some of them a bit too crazy for me, but they were still fun. It is always fun to see all the crazy emo kids... boys wearing girls jeans, rockstar hair, etc. Sometimes I wish G and I were a little more rocknroll and then I remember that G is an accountant and I shop at Gap. Darn. We saw Emery who we have seen many, many times. It was a good show.

My good friend Jen came to have lunch with me at Compassion today. I had to leave for an appointment right after our lunch ended, so I took her by the house before heading our separate ways. I had been wanting to show it to her, and it seemed like the perfect time. It was really nice to pull up and see the drywall men there... finally!

G got baptized today! He was sprinkled as an infant, but he wanted to be obedient to God and get baptized. Grant and Luke came, and we enjoyed lunch before the service.

While G was climbing this afternoon with Grant and Luke, I decided to check out Goodwill. I came across an amazing find! It was described on the price tag as a "table with legs", which sounds rather normal until you see that it really has LEGS.


The minute I saw it I really wanted it, but I talked myself out of buying it. I sent a picture text to G to show him and didn't hear back immediately, so I left feeling sad but ok with leaving it behind. He called back right as I was turning into our neighborhood and told me to turn around and get that thing... we couldn't pass this one up. So now we are the proud owners of a "table with legs"! We think it will be a perfect entryway piece, a spot for the mail and our keys. Such a great find!! We are meant to be together... the fact that we BOTH want this in our home is truly amazing. I love him.

Today was a busy day... garage sale shopping, volunteering, and partying! And I got a sweet farmer's tan on my arms! Awesome.

Rachel's birthday party was super fun tonight. Our friends, Katie and Carey, planned a scavenger hunt around downtown for all of us to go on before dinner. There were ten very clever and tricky clues. It was a ton of fun. My team didn't do so hot, but we still got prizes for the best photos taken at each spot! It was fun to come back and hear the other teams' stories about their time out and about... one team got pulled over and given a warning!


It was an amazing party... for an amazing girl. Happy Birthday Rachel! Thanks for being awesome!

walk through.

We had our pre-drywall walk through today with our superintendent Dan. It went well. G's cousin John, who works for another builder in Colorado, came to check out everything and also to ask important questions that we wouldn't know to ask. He was super helpful. Drywall is scheduled to start this week and wrap up sometime next week... and then on to some other exciting step. Dan told us that our move-in date is tentatively the last week of July... possibly the first week of August. This is kind of a bummer since my parents will be here the beginning of July, but oh well. It will be close!
