our 18 week appointment.

Today was our big appointment... the gender ultrasound! It was super fun to watch the little one on the ultrasound for so long while the tech took all the necessary measurements. And we know the gender... but we aren't announcing it quite yet! I want to tell a few more friends before the news is spilled on the blog and on facebook. It will be known soon enough... and there will be photos of our gender reveal party also!

a chili cook-off.

I was picked to be the decorations chair of a small fundraiser at Compassion... raising money for another ministry in Colorado Springs. I thought I was volunteering to be a part of the decorations committee, but ended up being in charge! It was nice to put some of my energy at work towards something I truly enjoy & where my talents can be shown. I don't have the chance very often! We had a chili cook-off and the theme, of course, was western... with a lot of fall accents. Nothing too fussy or expensive... nice and simple. The whole event was a success, and they hope to make it happen again next year.
